Best NBA plays today
- Kings (+17.5) at Hornets
- Knicks (-9.5) vs. Pelicans
- Nuggets/Suns Under (233.5)
Kings (+17.5) at Hornets - 7:00 p.m. ET
Sacramento hung with Charlotte at home two weeks ago in a 117-109 home defeat as 14.5-point underdogs. The Kings head east to face the Hornets tonight to begin a five-game road trip.
The Hornets are in the midst of a seven-game homestand, winning the first three contests by 19 or more points. Charlotte easily covered as 18.5-point favorites against Memphis in Saturday’s 124-101 victory, as the Hornets have upcoming matchups against the Knicks, 76ers, and Celtics ahead.
The Kings are off a home win over the Nets, improving to 5-3 in the last eight games. This is too many points to lay here for Charlotte, even off three blowout wins. Let’s grab the points with Sacramento.

Knicks (-9.5) vs. Pelicans - 7:30 p.m. ET
New York seeks its seventh straight victory, coming off the last three wins over teams out of playoff contention. Tonight’s opponent, New Orleans is another squad not headed to the postseason, fresh off a five-point loss to Cleveland that snapped a three-game winning streak.
The Knicks held off the Pelicans in the first matchup in New Orleans, 130-125 in late December, but failed to cover as eight-point favorites. New York is 10-3 in its last 13 home games, while allowing 110 points or fewer in five of the past six at Madison Square Garden.
New Orleans covered eight consecutive games before Saturday’s close loss to Cleveland. Although the Pelicans have played better recently, look for them to get blown out here against a streaking Knicks squad.

Nuggets/Suns Under (233.5) - 11:00 p.m. ET
In the first two matchups between these Western Conference foes, each game went Over the total. Denver won the first meeting at home, 133-111, followed by a 130-112 victory in Phoenix. Each total closed at 233.5, but this total hasn’t moved up at all in spite of the first two games sailing Over.
Phoenix is riding a four-game Under streak, including three games of scoring 105 points or fewer. This is the lowest total for the Suns since January 23 against Atlanta, which also stayed Under 233.5 points. In the last 28 games, Phoenix is 17-11 to the Under, including a 7-1 Under mark at home.
Each of Denver’s last eight road games finished Over tonight’s total, but look for a lower-scoring affair between the Nuggets and Suns in Phoenix.
