A Fan Suffered An Apparent Heart Attack During Tonight's Blue Jays Game [UPDATE]
Update 11:15 p.m.: Toronto police have now confirmed to CityNews Toronto and the Globe and Mail that the man who was taken to the hospital has now died. MLB.com also has a roundup of player reaction to what happened. If you care to watch the above video, it shows what preceded the stoppage in play. You cannot see the man being treated and it cuts away before he's moved to the cart, though it may nonetheless be disturbing to some viewers. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the man's family. The original post is below.
Details are still somewhat sketchy, but early reports are that a fan seated near the Rogers Centre front row suffered a heart attack during tonight's Blue Jays-White Sox game. It happened during the bottom of the seventh inning, and play was halted as a cart came into foul territory and wheeled the person away for further medical attention. CPR was being performed on the person as they were being wheeled away. We'll bring you more details as they become available.
