A Heartbroken Alex Ovechkin Discusses Russia's Loss
Here's Alexander Ovechkin just minutes after Russia's quarterfinal loss, talking with the CBC's Elliotte Friedman. He is devastated.
Ovechkin, who scored just one goal in five games, figures to come in for more than his fair share of the blame just because he's the biggest name on a team that appeared stacked with scorers, and came in with expectations that outstripped the reality of this tournament. But as Friedman notes, Ovechkin was the only Russian player to stop and speak with Western reporters after leaving the ice.
