Aaron Judge Can Sure Throw The Hell Out Of A Baseball
credits: Elsa | source: [object Object] The Yankees eked out a narrow win over the Angels Friday night, in a game in which Mike Trout, Shohei Ohtani, Aaron Judge, and Giancarlo Stanton combined to go 1-of-13 from the plate. But that crummy hitting doesn’t mean the game was entirely without highlights from its marquee players—hearty lad Aaron Judge uncorked a couple of bazooka throws from right field to nab Angels baserunners, including a strike to the plate to save a run:
I can’t decide which throw is more impressive: the laser home in the third to beat Kole Calhoun and cut down what ultimately would’ve been the tying run; or the casual toss from the deep right field corner that somehow nabbed Martín Maldonado on what should’ve been a sure-thing double. That second throw involves what appears to be no special effort or rush whatsoever—ho hum, just gonna long toss this here ball back to the infield. Aaron Judge is an unreasonably powerful human being.
