Add This Balk To The 2013 Astros Lowlight Reel
This image was lost some time after publication, but you can still view it [object Object] . What could possibly make this balk more perfectly Astros? The fact that it made the game 7-0, maybe.
The Astros' rotation is sort of a mess. On Saturday, the putrefied left arm of Erik Bedard turned in its longest outing of the season—five innings. He was relieved by former-perfect-game-thrower Philip Humber, who pitched so poorly he was DFAed after the game.
Jordan Lyles didn't fare much better on Sunday, getting knocked around for eight runs in four innings. The most bemusing was the balk that scoring Elvis Andrus, who'll take it. You can almost pinpoint the moment Lyles realizes none of this matters, and his soul dies.
