According to court records, Kirkpatrick was released from a Tuscaloosa County jail on a $1,500 bond.
"Unfortunately, with the information I have at this time, I talked to Dre and we need to indefinitely suspend him," DeBoer said. "He understands that there are consequences that come with his actions."
In his second season with the Crimson Tide, Kirkpatrick has nine tackles and a forced fumble in eight games. In 21 games for Alabama since last season, he has 12 tackles in 21 games. Kirkpatrick is the son of former NFL defensive back Dre Kirkpatrick, who played eight of his 10 seasons with the Cincinnati Bengals.
