And Here's The Place Where Home Run Derbies (And DUAN!) Go To Die....And Other Things Of Note

Sportsnation really wants you to watch their show. Yeah, you in the undershirt eating the bowl of Fruity Pebbles commenting here. They won't stop posting cryptic names on their message board unless you watch.

On to the memo:

Tomorrow:There will be a post from the Ninjas outlining the new Comment Of The Week set-up which will hopefully be somewhat enjoyable for those of you who still faithfully comment — star or no star.

Also: Since the death of an active DUAN! was inevitable. I'm not going to kill the tag altogether because it does serve as a nice end-of-day placeholder and we're all used to it by now. But, obviously, since most of the faithful have gone over to other places to engage in late night commenting, it's just not the same. I'm not discouraging those of you who still want to have free-for-all comments from entering this section, but I'm conceding that, yes, it's more barren since many people have left, both via Ninja and out of protest/disgust/dislike of me. Progress?

But! Since there are less of you around these parts, tomorrow we'll begin posting a few items over late night on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday (and Mondays this fall during football season). This will be both give some of the late night crew a couple more items to read before they go to bed and the early risers something to glance over before the Wake Up Deadspin! post. Barry Petchesky will be the first guy to fill this role this week and I'm hopeful to mix in a few others along the way so we can give him a decent night's sleep.

What else? I think that's it. Oh, and I hope to have our first Live Chat victim lined up before this week. Should be fun.
