Andy Murray just did a dull interview, revealing nothing of note, other than more of the usual banal athlete platitudes. After being asked “Do you have the ‘dry English humour?’” and confirming that he did have the dry English humour, he delivered a yawn-worthy anecdote about unsatisfactory room service.
At about the 1:00 mark of this video, Murray is asked, “What is the craziest thing a fan has ever said or done for you?”
The reigning Wimbledon champ recounted this story, in measured tones:
One of the tournaments that I played, a maid in the hotel—I had a ‘Do Not Disturb’ sign on the door—and she came in and sat on my bed, and started stroking my arm at about 7 in the morning, when I was still sleeping. And then turned up at a couple more tournaments, in the hotels that I was playing at, in Rotterdam and Barcelona. I don’t know if that’s a ‘fan’ thing, but that’s a bit extreme, that that happened.
Cool, Andy. We have absolutely no more questions for you, or about the maid who did bad room service and then stalked you internationally. It’s quite dull and dry to us, actually. No thanks for sharing.
