Andy Murray Is Going To The Wimbledon Final, Britain Loses Its Mind
Well, the second semifinal today between Andy Murray and Jo-Wilfried Tsonga may have been a battle between basket case and head case, but we have a winner: Andy Murray, trying to become the first Brit to win Wimbledon since Fred Perry 76 years ago, is going to the men's final.
Murray's long-deferred success got deferred even longer, as everyone had to wait for a Hawkeye review to establish whether or not his booming forehand winner was a winner. In the video above, listen to the BBC's Andrew Castle get choked up as the U.K. begins a 43-hour hype crusade for the never-would-have-guessed, deliciously tantalizing Sunday final: Murray v. Federer, best chance vs. last chance.
It took Murray four appearances in the Wimbledon semis before he broke through. And this will be his fourth Grand Slam final. Will he finally win one? Or at least win one set, which he failed to do in the first three?
