Austin FC M Owen Wolff undergoes hernia surgery

Austin FC midfielder Owen Wolff underwent surgery for a sports hernia but is expected to "make a full recovery by mid to late February," the club announced Wednesday.

The operation was performed Tuesday.

Wolff, 21, appeared in his first matches with Austin in 2021 as the club's first homegrown player. In 120 total MLS appearances (80 starts), Wolff has tallied 10 goals and 13 assists.

In January, he signed a contract with Austin through June 2030.

Austin opens the MLS season at home on Feb. 21 against Minnesota United.
