BBC Tries its Damnedest Not To Show Streaker At Six Nations Match, Shows Streaker Anyway
The Beeb's a paragon of good taste and proper culture, which rather makes you wonder how the Six Nations rugby competition ends up on its esteemed airways. ( Or this.) Yet there it is, and in today's match featuring France against Scotland in Edinburgh the BBC found itself face-to-face with a naked France supporter.
Of course, streakers are as much a British tradition as Auntie's propriety, as we saw last week at Anfield. BBC did its best to avoid exposing (heh, heh) viewers to French manhood, even using a live delay of some sort; we didn't know anybody but puritanical FCC-fearing American networks used those. And yet still, on multiple angles, there's our streaker nearly in his altogether. You'll note the commentator mention the BBC watershed, as if they would be happy to show you the streaker if it was after 9 p.m. It's horrifying how close the words "we have a streaker" and "scrum" came in the commentary, though.
