After a first-grade class at an elementary school wrote encouraging letters to Blair Walsh, who duffed a kick that would have allowed the Vikings to beat the Seahawks, he visited the kids today at Northpoint Elementary School in Blaine, Minn. The meet-and-greet featured autographs, conversations, and a question about whether Walsh owned a guinea pig.

The children wrote the letters—which included advice such as “You are handsome,” and “Everyone makes mistakes sometimes. One time I made a mistake when I was doing a cartwheel,”—to learn about empathy. Walsh appreciated the support.
