Boise State athletic director Jeramiah Dickey received a three-year extension through the 2028-29 academic year, the school announced Wednesday.
Dickey lands the extension on the heels of the school's football program reaching the College Football Playoff field. The Broncos lost 31-14 to Penn State in the quarterfinals at the Fiesta Bowl.
Dickey had two years left on his original contract, stemming from when he took over the AD duties in January 2021. He will reportedly make $465,000 in the first year of the deal and then receive 2.5 percent annual pay raises.
"Jeramiah Dickey's vision, leadership and hard work have helped lift Boise State Athletics to new heights," Boise State president Marlene Tromp said in the news release. "I am so grateful for his dedication to the university, our community and Broncos everywhere. I am so excited about the future we are building together."
Dickey swung and missed on his first football coaching hire by choosing former Broncos player and coach Andy Avalos. After dismissing Avalos during the 2023 season, he scored big with the promotion of Spencer Danielson, who was later hired as head coach.
Boise State went 12-2 this season under Danielson and record-setting running back Ashton Jeanty, who rushed for 2,601 yards, second most in college football history behind Oklahoma State's Barry Sanders (2,628 in 1988).
The Broncos will be joining the revamped Pac-12 in 2026.
Other sports have prospered during Dickey's tenure. He also oversaw the situation as the Boise State women's volleyball team declined to play San Jose State on three occasions during the 2024 season -- the last time in the Mountain West tournament -- due to the Spartans having a biological male player on the roster.
Dickey said he is striving to continue to raise Boise State's stature.
"We're never a finished product, but we are bar raisers, and I believe we will continue to raise the bar for Boise State," Dickey said. "Our TEAM is incredible, and we're already on to What's Next for Bronco Nation and this special place."
