Boxer Tries To Smooch Her Opponent During Faceoff

Boxers Mikaela Lauren and Cecilia Braekhus were performing the obligatory staredown at a press event Monday when Lauren went in for a kiss. It’s surprising that more boxing faceoffs don’t end like this. They get so close to each other!

Braekhus’s first reaction was to shove Lauren’s face away—naturally—and then she started laughing.

Clearly, Lauren is trying everything she can to antagonize Braekhus. From Boxing Scene:

“Cecilia is a very arrogant person but when she feels my power she won’t be so cocky. She might be confident now, but once I hit her, it’s going to wake her up. It’s going to scare her and then I’m going to get her respect,” said Laurén.

Braekhus (31-0) can get payback when she fights Lauren (29-4) on Oct. 21 in Stokke, Norway. The two boxers have had one previous match in 2010; Braekhus won by TKO.
