The Cardinals Lost Their 29th Game
Photo: [object Object] The St. Louis Cardinals had their five-game winning streak snapped Tuesday night as the Houston Astros beat them, 5-2.
Astros starting pitcher Doug Fister allowed two earned runs, five hits, and one walk while striking out six in 7 1/3 innings of work. He also had his first hit of the season (in three plate appearances) with a two-RBI single off Cardinals reliever Seung-hwan Oh in the seventh, which gave Houston a three-run lead it didn’t lose. St. Louis starter Jaime Garcia took his sixth loss of the season with a disappointing showing. He gave up three earned runs and eight hits over 6 1/3 innings.
The Cardinals are 15-17 at home. There’s always the next game!
