The New York Jets have reached a point in the season where losing games might be more beneficial to them. There isn’t one reason why the Jets have been so bad this year. The whole team could really use a fresh coat of paint.

Since the team is re-entering its never-ending rebuild, Breece Hall’s name has begun to pop up far more often in trade rumors. Hall is currently on the final year of his rookie contract, and with how this season has gone for New York, I’d be shocked to see him back on the Jets next year. Fortunately for Hall, he’s probably having his most complete season since being drafted in 2022. That’s why the Jets have to sell high on Hall, and here are a few teams that could be great fits.

Kansas City Chiefs

As long as Patrick Mahomes is playing in Kansas City, the team needs to be all in on winning a championship.

After a slow start to the season, the Chiefs have unsurprisingly figured things out and are back to being Super Bowl favorites once again. Mahomes has been carrying a hefty load on offense, even being the leading rusher on the team through six games. Isaiah Pacheco and Kareem Hunt aren’t a winning formula for a championship-contending backfield in 2025.

The Chiefs would be a good fit for Hall because he’s only 24 years old and could easily be re-signed long term to what will be a premier offense as long as Mahomes and Andy Reid are on the team. Hall might be strictly looking for a payday this offseason, and if that’s the case, the Chiefs could easily let him walk and rebuild the backfield through the draft.

Los Angeles Chargers

Sticking in the AFC West, the Chargers' backfield is currently dealing with multiple injuries to running backs. Najee Harris will miss all of this year with an Achilles tear and might not ever bounce back from that injury. Rookie Omarion Hampton is also on the IR with an ankle injury and could be sidelined for most of the regular season. Hampton wasn’t lighting the world on fire to start the season anyway, so adding Breece Hall makes a lot of sense.

Kimani Vidal did have a nice game, leading the Chargers' backfield with 124 yards, but how much of that was due to it being against the Dolphins? Hall could be a perfect one-year stopgap for a Jim Harbaugh offense that loves to run the ball. I would be shocked if they could sign Hall to a contract extension, but if the Chargers want to be more than a first-round exit, they need to improve their backfield.

Chicago Bears

The Bears finally got D’Andre Swift going on the ground against the Commanders on Monday Night Football, but it’s been an overall rough season so far for Swift. While being the offensive coordinator in Detroit, Ben Johnson lit the league on fire with the two-headed beast of Jahmyr Gibbs and David Montgomery.

Would Swift and Hall be as deadly as that combination? Absolutely not, but it would be a far more explosive duo than they currently have. Swift hasn’t been a great scheme fit for Johnson’s offense, so adding in Hall, a far more talented runner, could be the perfect fix for the Bears. GM Ryan Poles hasn’t been afraid to make a mid-season trade, so if he could bring Hall into this offense, the Bears would start to look like they could actually be playoff-ready.
