Celebrating Kings Fans Took Down A Drone
On Friday, after winning the Stanley Cup, Kings fans celebrated outside the Staples Center under the watchful eye of a quadcopter-mounted camera. In the most L.A. move ever, they brought it out of the sky with a commemorative T-shirt, whacked it with a skateboard on its way down, and chanted "We Got the Drone!"
Russia Today reported that it was an "LAPD spy drone," but that doesn't appear to be the case. A Forbes contributor identified the model as a $959 consumer-level quadcopter. So, it was likely just some poor sap fan hoping to film the celebration from above. This is why we can't have nice things: it's a lot more fun to smash the shit out of other people's nice things.
