Charlie Woods hits his first hole-in-one

Mandatory Credit: Nathan Ray Seebeck-Imagn Images Charlie Woods is beginning to build an impressive list of achievements, and he added another one to the list Sunday, pocketing his first-ever hole-in-one at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club in Orlando, Fla.
Woods sank his drive on the 176-yard, par-3 No. 4 at the PNC Championship, establishing a high water mark for the 15-year-old at a PGA-sponsored event, and more importantly, lifting his duo into the solo lead at 17 under during the final round of the two-day, 36-hole event.
"It was a perfect 7-iron, so just kind of hit it," Charlie Woods said on the Golf Channel broadcast. "Down off the left, a little cut 7. It was awesome. I didn't think it went in. I don't believe anybody until I go up there and see it."
A moment the Woods family will never forget.

He is competing as a pair at the two-player scramble event with his admittedly slightly more famous father, Tiger Woods, for the fifth time, and the two came into Sunday competition tied for the lead at 13-under-par 59.
The father-son combo's previous best finish at PNC was a runner-up result in 2021.
Tiger Woods, who turns 49 this month, has not played more than a handful of events in a given PGA Tour season since a single-car crash in February 2021 nearly cost him his right leg.
Saturday was Woods' first competitive round since the Open Championship last July, where he missed the cut. He has since undergone another back surgery, and he elected not to play earlier this month in his foundation's event in the Bahamas, the Hero World Challenge.
Not to be outdone, Padraig Harrington's son Paddy sank his first career ace on the 214-yard, par-3 eighth a few minutes later, lifting that pair to within a stroke of the leaders.
