Clayton Kershaw Walked A Guy, And It Was Bullshit

When we last checked in on Clayton Kershaw, we were marveling at his incomprehensible 22:1 strikeout-to-walk ratio, and wondering how long he would be able to maintain such an impossible level of excellence. Well, it’s been a month, and Kershaw’s strikeout-to-walk ratio is now 20:1, and so it’s officially news whenever he walks a guy.
In the fifth inning of today’s start against the Diamondbacks, Kershaw walked Yasmany Tomas on a 3-2 pitch. It was just the seventh walk he’s allowed this season, and it also should have been a strikeout:

Kershaw just finished up the sixth inning. He has eight strikeouts, and the Dodgers lead 3-2. We will continue to report on Kershaw’s walks as the news breaks.
