Cricket Fan Makes One-Handed Catch, Doesn't Drop His Food
Have you ever felt a cricket ball? It's hard—harder than a baseball. It can, and does, kill. Basically: it's no joke, and you're better off squealing and diving for cover than trying to make a play on a ball hit into the stands.
Brad Haddin was the lone bright spot for Australia, as they fell to Sri Lanka yesterday to even the series at one. Before he left with a hamstring injury, he put up a 50—including this screaming six into the Adelaide crowd. There, one fan returning from the concession stand calmly tucked his food under one arm, and shot up the other to make the grab. Judging from how awkwardly he tossed it back onto the pitch, I think he made the catch with his non-dominant hand.
Also, note the announcer at 0:57—he calls the fan "happy as a fat spider," which is maybe the most Australian expression ever.
