Daniel Berger Is Out Here Hiking And Wading His Way Up The Leaderboard

Daniel Berger is currently tied for 10th at the Honda Classic in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. I would like for you see the hilarious mess he made of the par-5 third hole today, so that you can appreciate with me the sheer unlikeliness of him saving par:

That zig-zag-ass yellow line is Berger going way left off the tee, then pitching from the damn woods back onto the fairway, then immediately firing an iron into a green-side bunker. The hole was, by then, a journey, and Berger would need to deliver from the sand in order to salvage the hole. And deliver he did!


Here’s the whole messy thing, from start to finish:

Pretty clutch! Possibly the par-5 third hole should, in fact, be the par-4 third hole, but that is neither here nor there. Back to Berger: This isn’t even close to the most clutch par save Berger’s had this tournament: back on Thursday, he rolled up his pants and hit his second shot on number six literally from the water:

And made par! Maybe they should just let Daniel Berger start every hole from some random chunk of wilderness.
