Mandatory Credit: Robert Edwards-Imagn Images Arizona Diamondbacks second baseman Ketel Marte was removed from Wednesday's road game against the San Francisco Giants before the bottom of the seventh inning.
The three-time All-Star walked off the field with what appeared to be a slight limp after a visit from the team training staff.
The switch-hitter fouled a ball off his right foot in a first-inning at-bat but kept playing until he started warming up in the middle of the seventh.
Marte, 31, is batting .283 with 25 home runs and 64 RBIs in 112 games entering Wednesday. He missed nearly a month of action early in the season after suffering a left hamstring strain in April.
The Diamondback (72-74) entered Wednesday's game 4.5 games back of the third NL wild-card spot with 16 games left to play.
