Dodgers vs. Brewers NCLS Game 2 Best Betting Picks, Prop Bets
Its crazy that in MLB after roughly four billion games I’m not sure there’s ever been a double play like this one that the Brewers turned last night. And they still lost the game. Anyways, we’re running out of games here, let’s nail some winners!
Season Record: 23-23-2, -2.07 Units
Freddy Peralta 6+ Strikeouts (-115 Fanatics)
Over 14.5 Outs Recorded (-150 Fanatics)
The Brewers do not literally have to win tonight, its only Game 2. But realistically its a must win game. Only three teams have ever come back to win a seven game series after dropping the first two at home. Yes this Milwaukee team has the No. 1 seed in all of MLB and some undefined “pluck” or “grit” or whatever you want to call it. But having to take 4 of 5 vs. the defending champs would seem beyond daunting.
Blake Snell completely shut down Milwaukee’s offense last night, while the Dodgers only scratched two runs off Quinn Priester and 5 innings of the Brewers best relievers. We should get another tight game tonight as its Yoshi Yamamoto for LA (2.49 ERA, 0.99 WHIP) vs. Freddy Peralta for the Crew (2.70 ERA, 1.08 WHIP)

The big question of course for starting pitcher props in the postseason is whether we get something approximating a full outing. Lesser pitchers either come in as followers, get very short ropes as regular starters, or both. That will almost certainly not be the case with Peralta. He’s the Brewers ace Milwaukee will really lean towards riding their horse here. He lasted 95 in his first outing, giving up two earned runs, four hits and three walks with 9 K’s in a 5.2 IP victory over the Cubs. His second did not go as well; 3 ER in 4 IP with 3 hits and 2 walks. Importantly though he still managed wix strikeouts.
The strikeouts have been there all year for Peralta as he has a 28.2% K% on the season to go along with an excellent 12.9% SwStr%. The Dodgers aren’t the easiest team in the world to whiff as they strikeout at a 21.9% K%, but I think Peralta gets there.
Encouragingly, Peralta is the rare pitcher that has handled LA’s traveling band of All Stars. The current Dodgers roster has combined for 154 PA’s vs. Peralta, and they’ve batted just .216 with a .295 wOBA. He blanked the Dodgers for 6 IP when they visited Milwaukee on July 7th, yielding 5 hits and 1 walk with 7 K’s. He fared less well in LA 12 days later, giving up 4 runs, though at least lasted 5 innings. I say he gets there tonight.
