One-Handed Linebacker Shaquem Griffin Drafted By The Seahawks, Who Employ His Twin Brother

Central Florida linebacker Shaquem Griffin, a one-handed player who runs like the wind and conquered the bench press, has been selected by the Seattle Seahawks in the fifth round of the 2018 NFL Draft. I urge you to watch these two videos of his selection, because they’re great:

Shaquem’s twin brother Shaquill was a third-round selection of the Seahawks in last year’s draft, and started 11 games for the Seahawks last season. The brothers were teammates at UCF before Shaquill entered the 2017 NFL draft. Per ESPN:

“I would wait all over again for the opportunity to be back with my brother,” Shaquem told ESPN, referring to the time he had to wait to be picked in the 2018 draft.

That Griffin has made it to the NFL at all is an accomplishment; that he did it despite the disadvantage of having only one hand is incredible; that he will now get to start his professional career as a teammate of his twin brother is just so fucking cool.
