Everyone In Turkey Seems To Already Know The Allen Iverson Chant
Allen Iverson went to see Besiktas FC's Turkish League soccer match against Kasimpasa on Monday evening, and as he shook hands with old Turkish men, some 32,000 fans serenaded him in unison. Was it ever like this in Philly?
Iverson also had a hero's welcome at the airport yesterday. At the soccer game, he was so thrilled with the reception that he even gave the roaring crowd a double-thumbs-up. BallinEurope also posted video of Iverson's first Turkish television interview and reports that Besiktas hosted a welcome ceremony at Cola Turka Arena this evening at 7pm. An amateur translation of the press release on the Besiktas website indicates that the team planned many light shows for the event.
