Mandatory Credit: Brad Penner-Imagn Images Boston Bruins goaltender Joonas Korpisalo has been selected to replace Buffalo Sabres injured netminder Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen on Team Finland's roster for the Milano Cortina Olympics.
Luukkonen will miss the Winter Games due to a lower-body injury he sustained in the Sabres' 7-4 victory over the Toronto Maple Leafs on Jan. 27. The 26-year-old is currently on injured reserve.
The Nashville Predators' Juuse Saros likely will get the start on Feb. 11 when Finland begins defense of its 2022 Olympic gold medal against Slovakia in Group B play. Kevin Lankinen of the Vancouver Canucks also is a candidate to see playing time for the Finns.
Korpisalo, 31, has posted a 10-8-1 record with a 3.12 goals-against average and .895 save percentage in 21 games this season with the Bruins.
