Finland, Sweden rosters heavy with Panthers for 4 Nations Face-Off

The defending Stanley Cup champion Florida Panthers have four players on Team Finland - the most on that squad -- and one player on Team Sweden with full rosters announced Wednesday for the 2025 4 Nations Face-Off.

Rosters for the United States and Canada will be revealed later Wednesday for the tournament scheduled to take place in Monteal and Boston from Feb. 12-20.

Panthers forward Aleksander Barkov already was selected for Team Finland when six players for each of the four teams' 23-player rosters were announced in June. The 13 forwards, seven defensemen and three goaltenders per squad all play for NHL clubs.

Barkov was joined Wednesday by forwards Anton Lundell and Eetu Luostarinen and defenseman Niko Mikkola.

Florida defenseman Gustav Forsling will suit up for Team Sweden, which has three members of the Minnesota Wild: forward Joel Eriksson Ek, defenseman Jonas Brodin and goalie Filip Gustavsson.

Forward Matthew Tkachuk of the Panthers was selected for the U.S. squad in June.

The Dallas Stars have three players on Team Finland: forward Roope Hints and defensemen Miro Heiskanen and Esa Lindell.

The tournament will replace the NHL All-Star game for the 2025 season and is positioned as a showcase leading up to the 2026 Winter Olympics in Italy.

Sweden opens against Canada in Montreal on Feb. 12, followed by Finland facing the U.S. contingent on Feb. 13 in Boston.
