Greg Oden Begins To Earn His Reputation At 4 p.m.
This image was lost some time after publication. Bad news for you, Calum MacLeod and Urule Igbavoa. Valparaiso's big men are going to have to deal with Greg Oden today, the greatest center in college basketball history that has never actually played a game. It was originally thought that Ohio State center wasn't going to be available until after Christmas, but he's gotten the go-ahead to take the floor today.
Ohio State athletic department spokesman Dan Wallenberg says that the wrist is good enough, and that he'll see some time on the floor. "He is going to get some minutes ... They did some testing yesterday, they got the results late last night, they spoke with his surgeon (in Indianapolis) and he said give it a shot today with some minutes."
If you're looking for the game on TV, you're probably out of luck. At 4:00 pm, it'll be on the Cleveland feed of Fox Sports Net Ohio and on the ESPN Full Court.
