We received this from reader Jake, as part of our call for responses you've received from writing to athletes. (Keep sending those in, by the way.) It doesn't quite fit, so I still wanted to share it with you.

According to Jake, this poem hung on the wall at a Twin Cities-area youth center and dates back to the KG era, so the overlap puts it around 2005-2007. When the youth center remodeled, Jake naturally took the poem home. Now it's the world's.

It draws inevitable comparisons to C.J. Leslie's 2011 opus, "She Finally Came."
