Here's The Song Of The Summer, And Also Every Single Other Day Of Life
Folks, it’s a sweaty summer Friday, and chances are you’re work-sick and ready to let loose. Please find some relief in the song of the summer.
That’s right: the song of the summer is “Hate It Or Love It” ft. 50 Cent, the hit single off The Game’s 2005 album The Documentary. In college I stress-listened to it 90 times one night to write a long paper. At an old job I’d listen to it while leaving the office every Friday and feel my confidence surge: Hate it or love it, the underdog’s on top, and I’m gon’ shine homie, until my heart stop. The soulful sample—taken from the 1975 song “Rubberband” by The Trammps—sucks you into its sweet hypnosis, ideal for grooving through an outdoor social event while raising a cool beverage this weekend. I believe these bars are among the best and most vulnerable of 50's entire career, as well as of this summer, the summer of 2016.
This song “ain’t going nowhere, so you can get to know” it. Also, I haven’t listened to a different song in the last eight years.
