Hines Ward Earns The Opposite Of Street Cred

Apparently, Hines Ward is huge among the lonely housewives of America. Viewers of the Regis and Kelly show voted Hines Ward of the Pittsburgh Steelers as their favorite athlete, which is sort of like being presented an award for achievement in the field of advanced mathematics from the local Dockworkers Union. It's nice and all, but what does it really mean?

The other contenders for the award were Danica Patrick, Maria Sharapova, Jason Kidd, Johnny Damon, Sugar Ray Leonard, and Shaun White. What any of those people have in common, I have no idea. It does not shock me, however, that Mike Tyson, Ray Lewis, and Zach Randolph fail to appear on that list. I thought Joey Porter had an outside shot, too.

I just hope that the Bengals can manage to put this out of their heads for a few hours this afternoon, so as not to be intimidated by the prestige of the " Relly" award.
