Is The Hall Of Fame Screwing Over Curt Schilling For His Hot Facebook Memes?
Curt Schilling is many things—a bloviator, a dummy, a bad Facebook person, a hilariously incompetent businessman—but I think the one thing we can all agree on is that, whatever his faults, the man could pitch his ass off and deserves to be in the Baseball Hall of Fame. Ah, but at present he is NOT. And emeritus editor Will Leitch has some rather convincing evidence to suggest that Schilling’s political views and penchant for terrible right wing memes is the reason why.
I asked Thibodaux if he thought Schilling’s controversies concerning his politics was affecting his vote totals. “There isn’t a better explanation that I’ve heard,” Thibodaux said, and pointed out that, because of the increased available slots on the ballot, almost no candidates are losing votes from last year.
Schilling publicly attributed voter indifference to his politics early last year, but oddly backtracked on that statement, despite it possibly being the only true thing he’s ever said. Is he getting screwed over? That’s the subject of the first 2016 Deadcast.
And there’s more, including weird diets, the NFL playoffs, Marchman ruining Game of Thrones, and all kinds of other crap. If you have anything you’d like to hear discussed on the podcast, just send it in to [email protected] with the subject line DEADCAST. You can listen to the show here or download it over at the iTunes store.
