Jon Jones Pulled From UFC 200 For Doping Violation
Photo credit: John Locher/ [object Object] Jon Jones will miss this weekend’s UFC 200, where he was supposed to fight a rematch against Daniel Cormier in the main event, for a doping violation. The headliner of one of the UFC’s biggest cards of all time is now gone after he apparently failed a test three weeks ago.
Ariel Helwani of MMAFighting reports that Brock Lesnar’s fight with Mark Hunt will now be the main event, unless Dana White can find someone to fight Cormier. Either outcome would be a pretty soggy consolation prize just a few days before the widely anticipated fight.
Here’s one possible opponent:
Cormier won’t get his chance for revenge against Jones, who beat him at UFC 182 and has been talking incredible amounts of shit since then. Cormier expressed his disappointment in a news conference, and, frankly, sounded like he was in shock.
