A shitty thing and then a good thing happened at José Fernández’s old high school this week.
On Wednesday night, Alonso High School held a candlelight vigil for the deceased pitcher, only to discover afterwards that someone had made off with Fernández’s high school jersey, which had been hanging in the baseball team’s dugout during the vigil.
There didn’t seem to be much hope of ever getting the jersey back, as there were no security cameras in the area and more than 500 people had passed the spot where the jersey was hanging, according to the Tampa Bay Times.
Things were set right today, though, when someone anonymously returned the jersey to the school.
Congrats to the thief who returned the jersey, who is now just a piece of shit and not the biggest piece of shit in the history of Florida.
