Kelly Slater Will Not Die
Kelly Slater surfed the elimination round today in the Hurley Pro at Trestles in California. Facing off against Jeremy Flores, who is 26, Slater lofted this monster air into the closeout, magically riding away and advancing into round three.
Slater, 42, currently sits second in the world behind Gabriel Medina, who is 20. Slater has won 11 World Championship Tour titles, the first in 1992 (before Medina was born) and the last in 2011, and he has 54 event wins, a number greater than any other surfer in history.
Kelly Slater will not die.
