Kobe Bryant Totally Googles Himself
Kobe Bryant scored 48 points last night in a win against the Suns, the team he's saved his best performances for since 2006, when Phoenix knocked the Lakers out in the first round of the playoffs (they did it again in '07). When it was all over and everybody was fawning, the Black Mamba humbly acknowledged his teammates and his coach and his God-given talents and went home to rest his cortisone-numbed wrist.
Just kidding! Instead of doing that, he took the opportunity to rag on ESPN's weekly NBA power rankings, which he apparently takes the time to monitor. From ESPNLA's Dave McMenamin:
Kobe alluded to the ESPN.com/NBA rankings after his 48 pts: "Not bad for the 7th best player in the league."
He also found time to speak in dramatic staccato about his genuine hatred for the Phoenix Suns:
"I don't like them," Bryant said of the Suns. "Plain and simple, I do not like them. They used to whip us pretty good and used to let us know about it, and I. Will. Not. Forget. That."
Even though most of the guys from that team are gone?
"I. Don't. Care," Bryant said. "I won't let it go."
Luckily, he'll always have Google to remind him.
