LA Galaxy sign former NYCFC M Justin Haak

Former New York City FC midfielder Justin Haak signed with the LA Galaxy in free agency on Monday.

The 24-year-old Brooklyn native recorded one goal and four assists in 34 MLS matches (all starts) in 2025.

Haak is under contract with the Galaxy through 2026 with an option through June 2027.

"We are very excited to welcome Justin to the LA Galaxy," said general manager Will Kuntz. "Justin is a positionally versatile player who will be able to contribute in several roles. His growth from homegrown academy signing to an every-game starter is a testament to his work ethic, his technical ability, and his defensive instincts.

"We look forward to Justin's contributions to the Galaxy as we continue to put together a competitive squad for the 2026 season."

Haak made his MLS debut with NYCFC in 2019 and tallied two goals and four assists in 81 league appearances. His tenure with the club included the 2021 MLS Cup and the 2022 Campeones Cup.
