Last Night's Winner: Gamblers (Half Of Them)
In sports, everyone is a winner—some people just win better than others. Like people who had money riding on a full-strength Indianapolis team actually giving a crap against Jacksonville. If you bet the other way...there's always slot machines.
The Colts had nothing to play for except the tantalizing hope of a perfect season, but there was no way for fantasy owners and gambling addicts to know ahead of time if they would go all out or not. On the other hand, they were playing against the Jaguars. So maybe "all out" is not the best way to describe the Indy performance, but they did enough to get the win and cover.
And Jacksonville got a sellout for the first time all season, so everyone wins. Unless you assumed the Colts wouldn't try, and in that case you lost big. Oopsie. There's always another Thursday Night game on Saturday!
Honorable mention: Anyone who ate dessert at the Gawker Media holiday party last night. I don't know what they put in that flan, but whoever made that stuff was an artist.
