Manny Ramirez Is Comin’ Back, Everyone
Manny Ramirez, the guy from all those cool Taiwanese home-run videos (he also once played major-league baseball), has signed a minor-league deal with the Texas Rangers. He will report to Triple-A Round Rock. He is 41 years old; he made his big-league debut nearly 20 years ago; he hasn't appeared in a big-league game since 2011. (That year he went 1 for 17 in five games with the Rays before he was hit with a drug suspension and retired.) Why is he doing this? Well, why not, I guess. He gets a prorated share of $500k if he makes the big club.
If there was any reason for Manny not to head to Texas, it would be the organization's minor-league policy regarding long hair. ( Remember this?) But even that is apparently no obstacle:
Manny Ramirez will cut hair and comply with Rangers minor league rules.

Hey, former Tigers "ace" Nate Robertson is down at Round Rock, too. We look forward to many awkward handshakes filmed in poor quality.
