The team said its director of hitting strategy Jarret DeHart and its assistant hitting coach Tommy Joseph would "continue and expand on their roles with the hitters."
Brown, who was hired by the team last December, previously served on the big-league staffs of the Los Angeles Dodgers (2018-22) and Miami Marlins (2023).
Prior to those jobs, Brown was with the Mariners as minor league outfield coordinator (2012-16) and then as player development system offensive coordinator (2017).
Brown played parts of five seasons in the majors with the Chicago Cubs (1996-98, 2000), Pittsburgh Pirates (1999) and Florida Marlins (2000).
Mariners manager Scott Servais was a teammate of Brown's with the Cubs from 1996-98.
