Mariners Players Pay Tribute To Ken Griffey Jr. In Perfect Fashion
So this is awesome. On Saturday, the Seattle Mariners inducted legendary center fielder Ken Griffey Jr. into the team's hall of fame. During the hour-long ceremony (you can watch the whole thing here), all of the current Mariners stood at the top step of the dugout, and honored Griffey Jr. by wearing their hats backward.
The backward hat was of course Griffey Jr.'s signature look. It was a look that helped cement his identity as "The Kid," turned him into the coolest player in the big leagues, and ensured that every little leaguer in the 90s went to practice with their hat facing the wrong way.
Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to spend some time watching every Ken Griffey Jr. highlight I can get my hands on.
