Mario Balotelli Won't Be Doing Things On A Soccer Pitch For Awhile After A Shameful Sunday Display
Mario Balotelli's season is likely over, as is his career with Manchester City after a reckless display at Ashburton Grove during City's 1-0 loss to Arsenal yesterday.
Balotelli somehow managed to skate on a challenge to Alex Song that could have blown out the Arsenal man's knee, but picked up two yellows later in the match to earn a red card and suspension that could last the rest of the season. Man City manager Roberto Mancini says Balotelli's done for the year and could be sold in the offseason, though Balotelli's agent claims he's not going anywhere.
The string of delinquent behavior has left Balotelli at risk of being left off Italy's squad for Euro 2012, and he's reported to have called Italian chief Cesare Prandelli to beg for forgiveness. We hope it works, because a Balotelli-free Euro 2012 will be like an Italian kitchen without fresh basil: less flavorful. [Fox Soccer]
