Meet Your 14-Year-Old Nephew's New Favorite Hockey Player
In the tradition of legendary athletic heroes like Johnny Dickshot, Jung Bong, and Pete LaCock, comes NHL rookie and object of affection for snickering school boys everywhere—Columbus Blue Jacket Grant Clitsome.
Columbus called up their 2004 ninth-round draft pick from the Syracuse Crunch to provide some emergency post-Olympic duty and he acquitted himself quite nicely. Two assists in his first big league game! Perhaps he will stick with the big club and become more than a footnote in hockey history/basis for your next fantasy team name. Of course, that may have less to do with his talent level and more to do with the Blue Jackets' ability to stay in business.
Don't ask me why Grant has so many admirers already, but every time the TV announcers mentioned his name, the table of junior high soccer players sitting next to me at ESPNZone got very excited. Maybe they're big Syracuse Crunch fans?

Dinner time! More posts to come, but in the meantime, go hug someone you love. And then make fun of their name.
