NBA.com Removes "Oriental" From Post About Jeremy Lin
On November 2, after the Charlotte Hornets home opener, NBA.com’s official Hornets blog posted a story about the team’s home opener. The post originally read, “The Jeremy Lin impact was evident as a lot of Oriental fans were present to support the Harvard prodigy giving a new feel to the Charlotte-style Linsanity!” It has now been changed to read, “The Jeremy Lin impact was evident as a lot of fans were present to support their Harvard Prodigy, giving a new feel to the Charlotte-Style Linsanity!”
Alex Wong noticed it this morning, and the story was quickly changed.
This is reminiscent of the “Chink In The Armor” headline fiasco during the original Linsanity three years ago. Meanwhile, Lin is having his best career season with the Hornets, leading the team in usage along with the second-highest PER.
