Oakland A's Farmhand Sean Murphy Dies At 27
Photo via [object Object] Sean Murphy, a pitcher in the Oakland A’s minor league system since 2010, died in Arizona on Monday. He was 27.
The team released a statement on Murphy’s death today:
Murphy, a 2010 draft pick, last played for the Midland RockHounds in 2014. He spent the 2015 season on the disabled list after having Tommy John surgery. In February, Murphy was suspended 50 games of the 2016 season after he tested positive twice for a drug of abuse.
