Mandatory Credit: Joseph Maiorana-Imagn Images Micah Parrish and John Mobley Jr. each had 21 points as hot-shooting Ohio State routed visiting Washington 93-69 on Wednesday in Columbus.
Parrish, who scored a career-high 30 points Sunday vs. Nebraska, had 14 points in the first half. The Buckeyes (15-10, 7-7 Big Ten) shot 58.2 percent (32 of 55) overall from the field, making 61.1 percent (11 of 18) of their 3-pointers.
Bruce Thornton added 17 points and Aaron Bradshaw 12 as Ohio State posted its fifth win in seven games.
Tyler Harris, Vazoumana Diallo and DJ Davis each had 14 points for Washington (12-12, 3-10 Big Ten), which had won two of three after a six-game losing streak.
The Buckeyes shot 66.7 percent (20 of 30) in the first half despite missing their final two shots after making 10 in a row. They also made 66.7 percent (8 of 12) of their 3-pointers but were 3 of 6 from the free throw line, otherwise the 51-36 halftime lead could have been bigger.
Ohio State put the game away early, expanding a 16-13 lead to 29-17 on a 3-pointer by Mobley with nine minutes left in the half. The Buckeyes made 5 of 7 field goals during the run but had an even hotter stretch when they made six in a row to go up 39-26.
Parrish then made it 8 for 8 with a 3-pointer and layup, being fouled on both attempts and making two free throws. Mobley drilled a 3 and Parrish hit a jumper before he ended the streak with a missed 3-pointer.
Ohio State guard Devin Royal (13.7 points per game, 7.4 rebounds) was listed as questionable after sustaining a leg injury during the loss to Nebraska, but he started and scored four of the Buckeyes' first six points on a pair of layups. He had eight points and four rebounds in 26 minutes.
Washington guard Luis Kortright missed a second straight game while serving an indefinite suspension for not meeting program standards, according to a university spokesperson.
