Panthers-Saints Fight Results In Ejection

Carolina tight end Brandon Williams earned an early ejection from today's game for throwing a punch during a fight that happened after the Panthers scored on a short run to take a 17-0 lead against the Saints in New Orleans.

The pushing and shoving knocked open a gate of the Superdome walls and allowed the fight to spill into a passageway. It appeared to be sparked by Cam Newton's jawing with Saints defenders after he reached the end zone; Fox's announcers seemed to believe Newton should have been penalized.
