Penguins sign former Islanders D Sebastian Aho to two-year contract

The Penguins announced the deal Tuesday with Aho, 28, who played parts of five NHL seasons with the New York Islanders (2017-18, 2020-24). He played in 58 games in 2023-24, totaling nine points (two goals, seven assists) and a minus-7 rating.
The native of Sweden has 11 goals and 39 assists with a minus-10 rating, 198 blocked shots and 123 hits in 190 career games. His best season was in 2022-23, when he set career highs in games (71), goals (five), assists (18), points (23) and plus/minus (+9).
The Islanders selected him in the fifth round of the 2017 NHL Draft.
