Army vs. Navy at Philadelphia. The only tradition in this game of late is Army getting continually walloped by Navy. The Black Knights haven't won this game since 2001, meaning that three classes of Cadets went through West Point without beating Army a single time. Don't expect any different this year. Navy is 7-4, Army is 3-8. I'm 5-foot-11, and I'll be watching this game while thinking of (a) our soldiers abroad and (b) paying higher taxes for the next four years.

I believe that college coaches can "cram" for a season-end review, much like a student from the same institution would cram for a big final. The coach, whose team is out of any sort of contention early in the year, wins some big games at the end of the season, doing just enough to save his job. After Pitt dropped their opener to Bowling Green, they won 8 of their next 10, and stand poised to finish their season in the Top 25 for the first time since 2004.

East Carolina at Tulsa East Carolina was an early favorite to be a so-called "BCS Buster" with early wins over virginia Tech and West Virginia, but then they lost three straight and that was that. But Skip Holtz won five of his next six thereafter, and now they're primed for a conference title. Why this game isn't played on a neutral site is beyond me, but I guess Tulsa's about as neutral as they could get.

Boston College vs. Virginia Tech at Tampa The ACC is probably worse than the Big East now, so update your jokes accordingly. Each team had three in-conference losses. Clemson, who fired coach Bowden with six games remaining, only finished one game behind BC. Awesome.
