Ranking Nike’s New NFL Rivalry Uniforms From Best To Worst
The AFC East and NFC West released new NFL “Rivalry” uniforms from Nike on Thursday morning.
Some fans might be fearful that Nike could turn football jerseys into the NBA, where teams wear mismatched jerseys that are not their core team colors on a nightly basis.
But these are fire.
As long as Nike and the NFL can stick to the plot with these new uniforms, they should look incredible on the field, especially during the highly anticipated rivalry matchups.
Let’s rank these new Nike NFL Rivalry uniforms. It’s hard to do because these are all pretty solid, but we’ll take a stab at it.
1. Buffalo Bills
These are incredible. Imagine the Bills wearing these in the middle of December with a light snowfall at Highmark Stadium.
While in a full snow game you might not even be able to see the numerals on the jersey, these are a thing of beauty — and the Bills continue to crush it.
2. Arizona Cardinals
This was a close race to put the Cardinals No. 1. The Cardinals wearing their white helmet with that red bird has always been one of the coolest headgears in football. These are perfect: the paint splatter, the state of Arizona on the sleeve. Zero notes.
Not to mention, Arizona has some swaggy players who can pull this look off. Kyler Murray dancing around defenders and Marvin Harrison Jr. catching touchdowns in these will be a thing of beauty in the desert this season.
3. Los Angeles Rams
Remember when the Rams revamped their jerseys and everybody hated them? Turns out those aged pretty well, winning a Super Bowl in them.
But Aaron Donald is gone. Odell Beckham Jr. is gone as well. Those kits have lost some of their luster once those legends departed.
But adding a black uniform combination is always cool — especially with Davante Adams and Puka Nacua on your sideline. These will play well on TV.
4. San Francisco 49ers
I respect that the 49ers really stuck to their integrity with these rivalry jerseys. Their colorway is iconic, and they’re one of just a few NFL teams that haven’t had major uniform changes.
The outlined numerals really pop on a black jersey. I’m not sure that I love “Faithful” in a script font because it’s so small and hard to read, but that’s just nitpicking.
5. Miami Dolphins
I would have loved to see the Dolphins go with the Miami Vice colorway that the Miami Heat have mastered over the years.
The Dolphins have some of the most marketable colors in all of sports, which is why I was a smidge disappointed that they went with black.
But wearing these at night could work, I suppose.
6. New York Jets
Again, I respect that the Jets kept things basic with this one. But the dark green is almost too dark. You’re not even going to be able to tell that it’s still green on television.
The black helmets are a very nice touch.
7. Seattle Seahawks
The Seahawks are like Oregon to me — just too many uniforms. We get it. You can have fun with neon green and chrome.
I’m also not a fan of whatever is going on with the print around the shoulder pads. Whatever.
8. New England Patriots
The Patriots do not use this “NE” logo ever … do they?
When I think of the Patriots, I think of Tom Brady, Rob Gronkowski, those iconic navy kits. These just do not move me.
